If you don’t think you have the skill and balance for wake boarding but would still like to have the thrills of a ‘tow sport’, then knee boarding is the sport for you. Rather than standing, like with water skiing and wake boarding, you are kneeling and closer to the water, making it easier to learn and ride. Riders sit on their heels on the board and secure themselves to the deck with an adjustable strap over their thighs. Being closer to the water, this sport is easier to learn, and the rider can go slower (about 15-20 miles per hour) with more gradual turns and less frequent falls. Beginners can start with knee boarding to get a feel for the tow and the waves, and then advance after they have mastered their skills!
